Artist Alexandra Diez perceives the world as a constantly changing composition of forms (all things in the world) and background (space). In her main body of work, the world is represented by simplified forms that by virtue of their shape express a feeling, a personality, a state of mind. These forms always float in the background; much like we float in space. New forms are simultaneously created by the relationship to one another and to the background.
